Parking for disabled students, staff and visitors
There are a large number of car parks around campus; many of these have designated disabled parking (Blue Badge Holder) bays within them that are close to key buildings to provide good accessibility for disabled students, staff and visitors.
Although disabled parking is free, when displaying blue badge, staff and students are asked to apply for a permit here This is so we can assess the number of blue bays available against those we know will regularly need to use them and can allocate more if necessary.
If you have a Blue Badge, you can park in any disabled parking bays on campus; the Blue Badge must be clearly displayed.
Students and staff must apply online for a parking permit here
This helps us to assess the number of disabled bays needed on campus. If you have a Blue Badge, your University permit is provided free of charge.
If there is no disabled parking bay close to where you are based, and you would like changes to be made to better accommodate your needs, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org, so that this can be considered.
Disabled visitors can use the designated disabled parking bays on campus free of charge; their Blue Badge must be clearly displayed inside the windscreen. However, where these bays are already in use, Blue Badge holders can park free of charge in any other available campus parking bays (including Pay & Display).
Students or staff who do not hold a Blue Badge, but who are struggling with their mobility (e.g. returning to study or work after serious illness or an operation) can apply for a temporary disabled permit, until their mobility returns to normal. For more information relating to you particular circumstances email: email@example.com
In addition, requests can be made for 'reasonable adjustments' to parking provision, with the support of Occupational Health.
