Biography

Clare studied medicine as a graduate at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2007. She completed her training in general practice in Oxford, qualifying in 2016. Clare has always been interested in the science that underpins medicine, and was an academi foundation programme trainee and then a NIHR academic clinical fellow in the department of primary care health sciences in Oxford, so she has had joint academic and clinical training throughout.

Clare's research focussed on diagnosis in primary care with previous projects on missed opportunities for diagnosis and more recent work on clinical reasoning and point of care testing. In 2017, Clare was awarded a Wellcome Trust Primary Care PhD Fellowship based on the diagnosis of heart failure in primary care.

Clare also works as a Salaried GP in central Oxford.
