Project updates
Our expert validation panel took place in November 2024. The thirteen experts that took part were carers, advocates and Registered Nurses for Learning Disability. They provided feedback on the proposed tool framework and the proposed data collection instruments. Most of the experts agreed that the framework and instruments were fit for purpose.

We have completed all of the interviews for the UCAN project. We are delighted that we were able to speak to people from across the UK about their experiences accessing urgent and emergency care.
Both UCAN project focus groups have now taken place. We have enjoyed working together with people from across the UK to co-produce a new tool to help people with a learning disability to access urgent and emergency care.
