Welcome to the Central Timetabling Unit
The Central Timetabling Unit (CTU) is responsible for producing the University's teaching timetables for the Faculties of Humanities & Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and term time ad-hoc bookings for students, societies and external companies.
Central timetabling is a mechanism to balance and regulate teaching delivery and resourcing procedures which are already in place, within a dual honours framework.
Our mission is to manage the production of a centrally co-ordinated teaching timetable for all areas of teaching in the University, for each timetabled period. The timetable should optimise use of space, staff and student time and be available for the start of term.
The timetable is driven by the staff & student experience, reporting requirements for capital investment and the institutional environmental policy. It is therefore necessary that the timetabling unit expands its remit to report on all taught activities and all space used for teaching delivery.
The central timetabling unit produces statistics to inform strategic & operational decision making, surrounding capital investment, annual student intakes, teaching delivery methods and new programme developments amongst other areas.
The Central Timetabling Unit is based in the Tawney building and is part of the Planning and Academic Administration directorate.
During term time, the timetabling helpdesk is open from 8:45am to 5pm Monday to Friday for all timetabling enquiries on 01782 7 34487.
Alternatively, timetabling enquiries can be emailed via firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us on 01782 7 34487.
