Applying for a January start course

Some of our Postgraduate taught programmes offer a January start. A January start works well for overseas students as it allows more time to meet visa requirements, as well as for those studying during a career break.

On this page, you can find out more about how to apply for a January start programme and key dates. Lots of general guidance on applying for a Postgraduate taught programme can be found on our 'How to Apply' Postgraduate pages.

We are committed to making the admissions process as smooth as possible for our applicants. If you need to to speak to our Admissions Team, please get in touch:

Please email all enquiries before application to enquiries@keele.ac.uk

YOUR APPLICATION JOURNEY and key dates

  1. Find the course that's right for you - browse our courses with a January start.
  2. Come and see what Keele has to offer at a Postgraduate Open Event (in person and online elements) or take a virtual tour.
  3. Apply online via our website - the application link for each course is on the course page. Please note, most courses usually close their January intake applications in November for International students, and in December for Home (UK) students, so you are advised to apply as soon as possible.
  4. If your application is successful, you will be made an offer via email.
  5. Meet the conditions of your offer and pay your deposit (International students) - For International postgraduate students starting in January 2025, the latest date for your deposit payment to reach us will be confirmed in due course. We anticipate that places will fill early and we will close our January intake, so we advise you to pay your deposit as soon possible.
  6. Pre-CAS and CAS (International students) - see our 'Next Steps' pages for more information about CAS.
  7. Enrolment week - we'll send your Keele IT account details and enrolment details so that you can start your university journey with us. For January 2025, International student enrolment dates will be confirmed in due course, and induction/first week is from 27 January 2025 for most programmes.
