Keele University Subject Taster Days 2022

Are you wondering what it is like to study at Keele University? Our Subject Taster Days give Year 12 students the opportunity to discover more about the programmes available at Keele.

What is a Taster Day?

A Taster Day is your chance to experience a day in the life of a Keele student. Designed for students in Year 12, Taster Days run in a variety of subject areas, with each one containing three taster sessions in your chosen subject, led by Keele academics. There will also be the opportunity to meet and chat with current Keele students.

Taster Days are available in the following subject areas: business and marketing; social, political and global studies; law; and humanities.

Who is it for?

Our Taster Days are tailored for students currently studying in Year 12 who want to find out more about university and the subjects they may like to study.  You’ll get an in-depth look at the courses that we have on offer here at Keele and what it’s like to study them, as well as valuable experiences to use in your personal statement.

How long is a Taster Day?

Taster Days start at 10am and finish at 3pm.

Is lunch provided?

Lunch will not be provided for these events. We recommend students bring their own lunch, but there will be outlets available on campus to purchase refreshments.

Date: Wednesday 6 July 2022, 10am - 3pm

Keele Business School develops the business leaders of tomorrow. On this Taster Day you’ll get to explore why some countries are rich and others poor, find out what makes a good brand name, learn how you can be innovative in management and much more.

You’ll also get the chance to meet some current Keele business students and discover the study options available within the Keele Business School.

Date: Monday 11 July 2022, 10am - 3pm

Keele’s School of Social, Political and Global Studies (SPGS) brings together academics in criminology, education, international relations, philosophy, politics, and sociology. On this Taster Day you’ll get to explore what it is like to study these subjects and their applications in the real world. You’ll also get the chance to meet some current Keele students and discover the study options available within the School of Social, Political and Global Studies.

 

Date: Monday 18 July 2022, 10am - 3pm

The Keele School of Law has a distinctive profile in UK legal education and is known internationally for their critical and inter-disciplinary approach to law and social justice. On this Taster Day you’ll get to explore what studying for a Law degree entails, undertake a workshop in legal skills, delve into the ‘Wagatha Christie’ case and more. You’ll also get the chance to meet some current Keele students and discover the study options available within the School of Law.

Date: Tuesday 19 July 2022, 10am - 3pm

The School of Humanities delivers a wide range of undergraduate courses in the areas of English Literature, Creative Writing, Film Studies, History, Media and Communications, Music, and Sound Design. On this Taster Day you’ll get to explore what it is like to study these subjects and their applications in the real world. You’ll also get the chance to meet some current Keele students and discover the study options available within the School of Humanities.
