Pre-arrival support

Our pre-arrival sessions are designed to support students who may feel worried about their transition to life at Keele. They aim to give participants a sense of belonging and set them on the right track to success.

If you identify as a student from one of the following groups:

  • Local or commuter student,
  • Mature student,
  • Student from a care leaver or estranged background
  • Student with a disability,
  • A student who has been successful during clearing,

We'll be holding two days of in-person sessions on Friday 4 September and Wednesday 9 September in the Walter Moberly building from 9am-5pm. During these sessions, we'll cover the following topics:

  • Campus life
  • The university for local and Commuter students
  • Get to know the Students' Union and the KPA
  • Money management
  • Academic expectations at Keele
  • Resilience and transition
  • Digital skills
  • Campus tours

Students can sign up for these face-to-face events through our sign-up sheet, and lunch and refreshments will be provided. There will also be a marketplace in the Chancellor's building with many of our Student Services teams providing information and support, such as our Careers and Employability, Global Opportunities, Placements, Counselling and Mental Health, and Disability Support and Inclusion teams.

We will also be offering online pre-arrival sessions on Thursday 10 September from 9.30am-6pm, including a session for parents with essential information about student life. These sessions will help you to familiarise yourself with key information and prepare you for your arrival.

These sessions are part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and success by helping new students to feel confident and connected before they arrive. For further information and to register your place, please see below:
