Biography
Jonathan was appointed as Lecturer in Philosophy in July 2017, having previously taught at Keele as a Teaching Fellow. He received his PhD from Keele University (on Kant’s philosophy of religion) in 2016. He also holds a Diploma in Education and Training (University of Worcester, 2015-2016), MPhil Philosophy (University of Warwick, 2010-2012) and BA in Philosophy and Theology (St. Peter’s College, Oxford, 2007-2010).
His current research plans include a series of papers and a monograph on Schopenhauer’s metaphilosophy, as well as continuing research in early modern philosophy and Kant’s philosophy of religion. Further details on his work can be found at keele.academia.edu/JonathanHead

- Kantian philosophy (esp. philosophy of religion, relation to Pietism and early modern philosophy, and pre-Critical works)
- Schopenhauer’s philosophy (esp. metaphilosophy, philosophy of religion, idealism, pessimism, relation to Indian philosophy)
- Early modern philosophy (esp. Anne Conway, Leibniz, Hume)
My current focus is on a monograph examining the philosophy of Anne Conway, which is due to be published next year. I am also working on papers related to my research interests in Kant's philosophy of religion and Schopenhauer's metaphilosophy.

I also contribute to Foundation Year teaching in philosophy, as well as the Metaphilosophy module for MRes.
