Biography

BA (Oxford); MPhil (Warwick); PhD (Keele)

Jonathan was appointed as Lecturer in Philosophy in 2017. In addition to degrees in Philosophy and Theology, he holds a Diploma in Education and Training (Worcester) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

He is currently working on various projects in early modern philosophy and theology.

Research and scholarship

Main areas of research interest:

• Early modern philosophy
• Kantian philosophy, particularly Kant’s philosophy of religion and the philosophy of Schopenhauer
• Philosophy of religion / philosophical theology

Teaching

I currently teach the following modules: 

  • Medieval Philosophy (Level 4)
  • Knowledge and Reality (Level 5)
  • Life, Death and Faith (Level 5)
  • Pursuit of the Good (Level 5)

I also contribute to Foundation Year teaching in philosophy, as well as the Metaphilosophy module for MRes.
