Soundpots: a framework for early years music activities to counteract the impact of Covid on young children in Stoke and Staffordshire

The Soundpots project, led by Make Some Noise in partnership with Keele University, was a research-driven initiative exploring the impact of early years music-making on speech, language, and community engagement.

Despite pandemic-related challenges, the project launched interviews, taster sessions, and stakeholder engagement across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, while building a strong foundation for future collaboration. With a focus on community music pedagogy and inclusive practice, the project has helped to shape new approaches to early childhood development through sound and storytelling.
