Secondary to Higher Education – Enhancing Language Learning opportunities among underprivileged young people in Tunstall to enhance transferable employability skills and encourage a sense of attainment
This collaborative project between St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy and Keele University is inspiring secondary students to pursue language learning and consider higher education as an achievable goal.
Through campus visits, translation workshops, and mentoring from undergraduate linguists, students have explored the value of languages in real-world contexts. The initiative is also strengthening international school links and fostering aspirations across both secondary and university communities.
