Beaches, Beach Finds and Belonging: An Inclusive History of Beach Cleans on the Isle of Skye
As part of the 50 Years of Litter on Skye initiative, this project brought together researchers and local communities to survey and remove marine debris from Skye’s beaches.
With strong community engagement, extensive media coverage, and thousands of pieces of litter collected, the project highlighted the environmental pressures of rising tourism and the importance of collaborative action. A community workshop and upcoming webinar continue to build momentum for future clean-up efforts and inclusive environmental stewardship.
