Biography
I joined Keele University in January 2023 as a Senior Demonstrator in forensic science after 3 years at Staffordshire University as a Technical Instructor supporting teaching and research into firearms/ballistics, forensic fibre analysis, microplastic detection and analysis, wildlife crime, forensic entomology and decomposition.
I completed my MSci in Biological Science at Staffordshire University before joining the forensic drug analysis laboratory where I had completed my final year industry placement. After a short time, there I moved to another forensic provider as part of their Toxicology team where I analysed blood and urine samples for drugs of abuse.
In 2018 I joined a new Toxicology laboratory working on workplace, civil and family court testing. Here it was my role to prepare and analyse samples of hair, urine or nails for traces and markers of alcohol and drugs of abuse as well as report findings for disciplinary proceedings or court as required.
