Biography

I completed by undergraduate degree at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario in 2015 achieving an Honors Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a specialization in molecular biology and biochemistry. My research project was titled Estimation of firing distance through analysis of gunshot residue using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) which was carried out in partnership with the Great Lakes Institute of Environmental Research (GLIER) and the Ontario Provincial Police Forensic Identification unit in Chatham, Ontario. I went on to complete a Mast of Science in Forensic Science with merit at the University of Strathclyde in 2016 where I was given the opportunity to work at the Centre of Anatomy and Human Identification at the University of Dundee for my research thesis: Use of micro-CT for examination of tool marks on bones. I began teaching at Keele as a senior demonstrator in September 2017. In 2021 I was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Practice and became a fellow of the higher education academy (FHEA). In August 2022 I became a teaching fellow in forensic science and I am the study abroad and work placement tutor for the Forensic Science program.
