School of Psychology

Our research is internationally recognised; 80% of our research is deemed world-leading or internationally excellent (REF, 2021). Our subsequent growth, success in obtaining grant funding (including ESRC, NIHR, Wellcome and Leverhulme Trusts), and our ambitious research strategy mean that we anticipate even better performance in the next REF.

OUR RESEARCH GROUPS

Cognition, brain and behaviour research group

This group conducts empirical and theoretical investigations addressing questions across a range of topics in cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience.

Health, well-being, and behaviour change

This group focuses on critical psychological approaches to understanding health and illness and promoting well-being.

Identities, values and social change

This group has a focus on social identity, group processes and inter-group relationships, contact and conflict reduction strategies, trust and cyber-psychology.

Justice, security, & institutional change

Using psychology to understand group behaviour, interactions between justice/government and the public, and to help inform institutional change within security and justice settings.

Special interest groups

We have a number of research networks and forums, which aim to bring together researchers from across the University and external to Keele.

KPAC

Keele Policing Academic Collaboration (KPAC) is a partnerships between academics and policing partners, focused on issues related to policing, community safety and justice.
