OBRG worked with ANSYS and ENG4 to to develop a model of a hospital room
Keele OBRG members work with ANSYS and ENG4 to develop a model of a hospital room.
Members of OBRG worked with ANSYS and ENG4 to look at the development of a model for a hospital room in order to examine the effectiveness of air-conditioning and filtration. In this first step we examined the status quo to look for ‘hot-spots’. The video below demonstrates the effect of a person coughing in the room “in the wrong place”. Instead of extracting the particulates the air extraction system has the effect of forcing the cough particulates onto and behind work surfaces.
