Many thanks to everyone who completed their questionnaires! You helped us exceed our target, and raise £1,600 in the process, which was donated to the Alice Charity.

The North Staffordshire Health Study was funded by leading charity, Arthritis Research UK to research how musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain and arthritis, affect a person's health. The study aims to ensure that patients receive the best treatment to enable them to enjoy life and maintain a quality of life. The study asked questions about common symptoms and health conditions experienced by people in North Staffordshire, to help gain a better understanding of how these symptoms might be prevented or managed.

Patients from selected GP Practices across North Staffordshire approached around 14,000 patients to complete the single health questionnaire. By looking at the results from the completed questionnaire, researchers hope to learn about people's health and the ways in which it affects their everyday acitvities which will allow better planning of health care services.

£200 was promised to a local charity for every 1000th completed survey that was returned. The generosity of the people across North Staffordshire who took part in this study has allowed us to pass on some of that good will in the form of a donation to the Alice Charity, a very worthwhile local cause.

These questionnaires are now being analysed and findings will be shared in due course.
