Biography

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust and Lead for Clinical Skills at Keele University Medical School, a role I took up in 2025. Alongside my clinical practice, where I have specialist interests in obstetric and vascular anaesthesia, I provide leadership and strategic oversight for the undergraduate clinical skills curriculum, supporting its development, delivery, and alignment with assessment and GMC standards.

I hold a BMBS from the Universities of Exeter & Plymouth, and an MA in Medical Education from Keele University. I have completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Medical Education and have previously been a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Undergraduate Assessment at Keele. My work spans curriculum development, assessment, and educational research, with a particular interest in teacher credibility and OSCE authenticity.

I have experience across both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, including curriculum delivery, examining, standard setting, and student support. I am also an Advanced Life Support and Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor, and hold leadership roles in quality improvement and research within anaesthesia.
