Research and scholarship
Chelsea is a member of the Keele Osteoporosis Research Group which is led by Professor Zoe Paskins.
Her PhD aims to explore the need for and provision of biopsychosocial-spiritual care in routine outpatient osteoporosis consultations among patients and healthcare professionals, and how it can be optimised to address support needs.
Chelsea is working on the Improving Understanding of Bone Density (DXA) Scans (INDEX) study; a 2-year study funded by the Royal Osteoporosis Society. This study aims to explore understanding and communication of DXA scans and DXA scan results among patients and healthcare professionals, and how can it be optimised to inform treatment decision-making. This study is led by Professor Zoe Paskins and Dr Laurna Bullock.
Chelsea is also working on the Haywood Arthritis Portal (HAP) study which is funded by the NIHR West Midlands Clinical Research Network and British Society for Rheumatology. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and implementation of electronic patient-reported outcome measures, captured using the Haywood Arthritis Portal, in the routine care of adult patients with inflammatory arthritis. This study is led by Dr Ian Scott.
