Skills competitions

We run a number of student competitions as well as providing the opportunity to try a skill without competing. We offer training in client interviewing, negotiating as well as mooting and advocacy. These offer an opportunity for you to try key legal (and life) skills and compete against your peers. Challenge yourself and experience the thrill of a successful negotiation or piece of legal advocacy in a courtroom setting.

Our Mooting Co-ordinator Boyd Morwood is an experienced barrister who provides expert guidance and supports the activity of our student mooting society.

Client interviewing is run by Sonja Dale, a solicitor with years of experience in legal practice who also supervises our Commercial Legal Advice Clinic.

Catherine Edwards runs the Negotiating Competition where she coaches and judges competitors at regional heats of the CEDR national negotiating competition. We regularly compete in the CEDR competition where we have made it to the national finals.

All our students have an opportunity to participate in all the skills.
