“Creating Mental Resilience for Young People: Interpreting vulnerable bodies and therapies in uncertain times.”
They key themes of my researcher follow the current state of mental health care for young people within a UK context. I wish to follow the current debates surrounding the provision and types of treatment offered to young people who experience mental (ill) health conditions. For the time being the main form of mental (ill) health condition I wish to focus on is that of depression. I will seek to carry out empirical research with organisations and National Health Service operators in the Staffordshire area. I will also use theoretical work to help destabilise the current ways mental health has become situated in society; major influences at this point are Michel Foucault, Félix Guattari and Jacques Lacan.
