Dr Ellie Hammond
Dr Hammond has been a Clinical Lecturer in Medical Education at Keele since 2017 and is the co-patch lead for Shropshire GP placements.
She is also the School of Medicine Lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and the GP team lead for GP Tutor Updates, GP Tutor Educational sessions, Year 5 Lead for GP Placements and Year 5 Quality Improvement Activity projects. She also sits on the ‘Decolonising the Medical Curriculum’ , EDI, and Assessment Committees and is a Professional Development Tutor.
Dr Hammond spent 12 years working as a GP in an Urgent Care Centre attached to an ED and at present provides medical cover to a local hospice. She works as an external examiner for St Andrews and Plymouth medical schools. She has academic interests in Reflection, Interprofessional Education, Communication, and EDI within healthcare training.
Outside of work she is a member of a local cricket team, loves anything outdoors with friends and family, and enjoys playing the piano and singing.
