Base Camp covers a carefully selected range of subjects crucial to the new entrepreneur, with ample opportunities for questions and interaction

Share ideas and network in smaller breakout groups, allowing for a collaborative learning experience with other businesses

The outbreak of COVID-19 and subsequent measures to keep people safe, has seen a number of challenges for businesses, but also opportunities for entrepreneurs to thrive developing new innovative ideas and products.

Starting a business you can find yourself undertaking the role of the salesperson, financial manager, marketer, production department, PA and operational manager. What you really need is purpose and a plan, in short what you need is a fantastic inspirational leader - the revelation is - that is you!

The New Enterprise Base Camp aims to give you the tools and skills necessary to strengthen your leadership and product and/or service offer to continue the climb.

The programme will help you to fully realise your goals by challenging the assumptions that underlie your business plan and validate your products.

November 2021:

  • Thurs 11th - 9:00am - 5:15pm 
  • Fri 12th - 9:00am - 4:30pm
  • Thurs 25th - 9:00am - 12:00pm 

Registration is from 8:30am. Participants will need to attend all the sessions to complete the course, all sessions will take place on campus in the Smart Innovation Hub

There is no cost to your business for the programme, only your time. All sessions are fully-funded via the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

The programme is open to early-stage and established small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial social innovators.

Applicants must be an owner, director or employee of a registered business in the Stoke-on-Trent or Staffordshire area.

What to expect

Upon being accepted onto the New Enterprise Base Camp, all sessions will be delivered in-person.

Across the five sessions, you can expect to refine your business plan and your leadership skills, covering subjects such as:
