New Head for Keele University Science and Innovation Park
Keele University Science and Innovation Park (KUSIP) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Mark Bacon as the new Head of KUSIP.
Mark has been covering the post on an interim basis since January 2016 and his permanent appointment was ratified by the University on Tuesday 7 June 2016. Mark will undertake his KUSIP role alongside his duties as Keele University’s Director of Engagement and Partnerships.
Speaking about his appointment, Mark said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed to the role on a permanent basis at what is a very exciting time for the Science and Innovation Park.
“Our existing tenants are flourishing and I am looking forward to welcoming more businesses onto the Park over the next few months once our fifth Innovation Centre is completed. We are continuing to work closely with Staffordshire County Council to identify how we can further support local businesses, including the potential of creating a sixth Innovation Centre here at Keele.
“I am proud of the relationships that KUSIP has built with the local business community and the support that we can offer has continued to increase. We are the only Science Park in Staffordshire and among the largest of our type in the country. As one of only a handful in the country that is fully integrated with a university campus, our tenants are able to access Keele University’s resources, facilities and expertise quickly, easily and effectively, resulting in faster product development, stronger business growth and the creation and retention of high-value jobs in the local area.”
