Biography

In 2010, I graduated from Keele University with first class honours in Philosophy & English, I then went on to complete an MA in Creative Writing at the same institute. Throughout my MA, I explored the connection between philosophy and poetry and wrote an extensive critique of Plato's views on poetry, in narrative form, using Pound's schemata. Examining the crossovers in these respective fields led me to observe intersections within philosophy itself: most notably, the analogous elements shared by political philosophy and aesthetics. My PhD thesis concerns this particular intersection.

My research interests include Political Philosophy, Metaethics, Aesthetics and Literary Theory.

I am the British Postgraduate Philosophy Association (BPPA)'s representative at Keele.

Research and scholarship

My research project delves into the fields of Aesthetics, Metaethics and Political Philosophy, and examines closely the concepts of Originality, Normativity and Liberty. My project endeavours to find answers in regards to the ancient-modern debate in political philosophy, and answer whether originality should be seen as a normative aspect in the arts, by arriving at an account of normativity capable of producing an equilibrium between them.

This project is being supervised by Dr Sorin Baiasu and Dr Monica Mookherjee.
