Research and scholarship

Title of PhD: An Institutional Approach to Managing Student Alcohol Consumption in a UK University.

Supervisors: Dr Richard Stephens & Dr Emee Estacio

The aims of the research are to implement and evaluate an intuitional approach to managing student alcohol consumption at a mid-sized UK university. Using an action research approach, underpinned by a rigorous survey of student drinking, the research aims to demonstrably reduce harmful student alcohol consumption at Keele University, while at the same time recording and sharing best practice so that other UK institutions can benefit from this experience.

Further information

Keele University is now a member of NUS Alcohol Impact; a programme designed to change behaviours by creating a social norm of responsible alcohol consumption at a key moment in students’ lives. Alongside my PhD, I will be acting as Keele’s Alcohol Impact Officer.
