Prunus x yedoensis 'Afterglow'
Another US cultivar. It is one of the many hybridised from the famous Tokyo Cherry (Somei-yoshino).
It is an offspring of the cultivar Prunus x yedoensis ‘Akebono’ but differs from that cultivar, whose flowers open a pale pink but fade to white, in that its single pink flowers retain their colour until they fall.
