Prunus 'Shosar'
The large single blossoms, 30-40mm across, are a deep pink, similar to Prunus sargentii but flowering from the end of March to mid-April before the leaves appear. The leaves are bright green and the autumnal colours yellow to coppery-orange. It has a broad upright habit making it suitable for the smaller garden. This image is from an earlier tree that has since died.
