Welcome to the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Keele University.

Set within Keele’s beautiful 600-acre campus, our School brings together expertise in Computer Science, Data Science, and Mathematics. Here you’ll find not only cutting-edge facilities but also a friendly, supportive community where curiosity and innovation thrive. Our programmes combine theory, creativity, and hands-on experience, helping you develop the skills that employers and researchers value most.

You’ll be taught and supported by people who are both active researchers and dedicated educators. Many of our degrees are accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) or the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), recognising the high quality of what we do. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in hackathons, coding challenges, data projects, and research activities that bring your learning to life.

Our partnership with the Alan Turing Institute strengthens our work in Data Science and AI, while our involvement in Keele’s Digital Society Institute connects what we teach to real-world innovation and impact.

Most importantly, we’re a welcoming and supportive community. We want you to succeed, to enjoy your time here, and to leave Keele confident in your abilities to shape the technologies and ideas of the future.

Welcome to the School — I’m really looking forward to meeting you and seeing what you’ll achieve.

“Studying at Keele has given me the confidence to take on challenges and step outside of my comfort zone. The small class sizes and constant support from staff has enabled me to take my learning to a deeper level and develop a wider skill set.”

Beyond the School of Computer Science and Mathematics

Meet Ken - one of the School's inspiring alumni community.

Ken Andersen

"Everywhere I have worked I have always wanted to get to know the people I work with and in a way it is similar to the campus experience of Keele where everybody knows of you, and you know of everybody else - it was really fun and is something I try to reproduce in my professional life. I had a brilliant time at Keele and really loved living on a campus."
