Biography
Sue is a Chartered Physiotherapist and researcher. She previously led the Neurological Rehabilitation Research Group at Keele, and was founder and Chair of the Special Interest Group for Neurological Therapists (SIGNeT). Although she retired from full-time employment at Keele, she has retained an emerita Reader position to enable her to continue to supervise PGRs and be actively involved in ongoing neurological rehabilitation research projects.
Research and scholarship
Sue has been involved in stroke and neurological rehabilitation research since 2000. She continues to be involved in a range of research projects related to stroke rehabilitation and recovery. The main focus of her research has been: 1) evaluating complex interventions to improve recovery post stroke, with a particular interest in somatosensory interventions; and 2) exploring experiences of living with a long-term neurological condition.

Currently involved in supervising 3 post-graduate researchers (PGRs) who are PhD candidates.

- Somatosensory intervention for unilateral hemineglect post stroke
- Wheelchair provision for children with neurological conditions and mobility limitations in the UK and Kuwait
