Biography
Kyle Foster has over 21 years of NHS clinical experience as an Advanced Radiographic Practitioner, Musculoskeletal Ultrasonographer, and Lecturer in Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) within the School of Allied Health Professions at Keele University.
He is an active member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and has extensive experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound education.
Kyle’s academic journey includes a National Diploma in Sports and Exercise Sciences and a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography from Birmingham City University. He also holds postgraduate qualifications in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound from the University of Liverpool and in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from Canterbury Christ Church University. Notably, he was the first sonographer to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Medicine from the University of Leeds.
Research and scholarship
Kyle has a keen interest in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and will endeavour to undertake research regarding 3D ultrasound imaging of the rotator cuff and the development of a standardised musculoskeletal ultrasound grading system for muscle injuries in the near future.
Teaching
Part of the Diagnostic Radiography academic team and lead for the upcoming postgraduate medical imaging programmes.
Further information
Continues to practice Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, working closely with professional athletes and teams within private practice.
