Biography
Alex is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Keele University and joined in January 2024. He has experience of teaching physiotherapy across a and contributes to teaching across Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching. He completed his PhD in pain management before working as a research fellow on trials into mirror therapy and into physical activity in different service user groups; particularly stroke and frailty. His clinical background was in the acute sector working across all areas of physiotherapy provision, specialising in the management of older adults with medical needs. He has a strong interest in using research and evidence based practice to further service delivery.
Research and scholarship
Alex's current research work is around physical activity in people with long term conditions and older adults with frailty.
