Keele University launches 2026-27 concert season with diverse programme of live music

Acclaimed artists, rising stars and innovative ensembles will take centre stage in Staffordshire this year as Keele University launches its 2026–27 concert season.

Featuring eight live performances across the academic year, the programme showcases exceptional talent from around the world and continues a tradition of bringing outstanding live music to the University and wider community that dates back more than five decades.

Most of the season's performances will be held in Keele University Chapel, with one concert taking place at the New Vic Theatre in January as part of a joint promotion.

Audiences can look forward to: 

• Nosferatu with Live Organ - A special Halloween screening of the silent horror classic accompanied by live organ performance. Wednesday, October 28, Keele University Chapel, from 7pm. 

• Inner Vision Quintet - A genre-defying ensemble blending Indian classical, Middle Eastern, Western classical, jazz and folk traditions. Wednesday, November 18, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

• Celoniatus: A Thousand Midwinters - An atmospheric candlelit concert celebrating the winter season. Wednesday, December 2, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

• Xuefei Yang - Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist renowned for her virtuosic performances and global influence. Wednesday, January 13, New Vic Theatre, from 7.30pm. 

• Willard Carter and Madeleine Brown - Rising stars of the classical music world performing a programme for cello and piano. Wednesday, February 10, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

• Lodestar Trio - An innovative ensemble combining Nordic folk influences with Baroque music traditions. Wednesday, March 17, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

• Orchestra for the Earth - A dynamic orchestra exploring the connections between music, nature and environmental awareness. Wednesday, April 21, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

• ZRI - A vibrant and energetic finale reimagining the music of Schubert through folk-inspired arrangements. Wednesday, May 19, Keele University Chapel, from 7.30pm. 

Booking is now open, with season membership packages available that offer savings across the full programme. In line with Keele University’s commitment to widening access to arts and culture, admission is free for all full-time students, as well as young people aged 16 and under.
