Keele boosting student employability with work placements on every course

Keele students can take advantage of new opportunities to gain professional work experience during their degrees thanks to a new commitment to offering work placements across Keele’s range of undergraduate courses.
For courses starting from September 2025, every undergraduate degree at Keele (excluding apprenticeships and “top up” degrees) offers students a work placement opportunity, to help boost their employability and give them important industry skills and contacts before they graduate.
Robbie Pickles, Director of Global Student Recruitment and Admissions at Keele, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for our students, ensuring every Keele undergraduate can gain valuable real-world experience before they graduate. Placements can enhance employability, build confidence, develop industry connections, and allow students to apply their learning in a professional setting – and put their professional experience back into their learning. We’re committed to equipping our students with skills employers are looking for, giving them a competitive edge in their future careers.”
This offering includes either a placement or “sandwich” year in industry, or an integrated clinical or professional placement for every course, with most courses also offering a work placement module.
Keele students have previously secured placements with major companies in various different industries, including AstraZeneca, Bentley, L'Oréal, the NHS, and Nintendo to name just a few.
