Keele University alumnus, Michael Mansfield KC, was called to the Bar in 1967. He established Tooks Chambers in 1984 and became Queen’s (now King’s) Counsel in 1989.

Throughout his career, Michael has represented defendants in criminal trials, appeals, inquests and inquiries, many of which involved controversial civil liberties and human rights issues.

Outside of his legal work, Michael is a trustee of the mental health charity, SOS Silence of Suicide, which he co-founded in 2015 with his wife Yvette Greenway.
