    Following a sold‑out performance in 2022, Nosferatu returns to Keele for a special Halloween‑week screening accompanied by acclaimed organist and composer Andy Quin. Experience F.W. Murnau’s landmark 1922 masterpiece as it was originally intended: on the big screen, with a live, improvised score that brings its eerie shadows and unforgettable imagery vividly to life.

    A defining work of early cinema, Nosferatu remains one of the most influential horror films ever made. Max Schreck’s chilling portrayal of Count Orlok, the film’s striking expressionist visuals, and its turbulent history, including attempts to destroy all surviving prints, have cemented its place as a cornerstone of the genre. More than a century on, it continues to mesmerise audiences with its haunting atmosphere and visionary storytelling.

    Andy Quin brings decades of experience in classical performance, film and television composition, and silent‑film accompaniment. His work spans major UK orchestras, broadcast performances, and a lifelong passion for improvisation. His live score for Nosferatu in 2022 was praised for its intensity, imagination and emotional depth, making this return performance a highlight of Keele’s autumn programme.

    Join us for a hauntingly atmospheric night in the University Chapel as this iconic film returns to the big screen with live, improvised organ accompaniment.

    And from 7pm...

    We’re pleased to share that Andy Quin will offer special pre‑movie improvisations on the University’s Steinway piano. Over three decades, Andy’s music has appeared in Hollywood films, global advertising campaigns and countless TV programmes. A former Keele student who began accompanying silent movies in his early teens, he has built a career spanning classical performance, jazz, composition and film scoring.
    You’re welcome to drop in from 7pm for this informal prelude before settling in for Nosferatu at 7:30pm.

    £17 or FREE for students and ages 16 & under.
