Wednesday 13 May
Keele University Chapel, 7:30pm
Amiri Harewood, piano solo

Join us for an evening with pianist Amiri Harewood, a rising star whose performances have captivated audiences across the UK and internationally.

Currently completing his postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music under the guidance of acclaimed pianist Danny Driver, Amiri has already built an impressive reputation. A former student of Trinity Music Academy with Richard Evans, his career highlights include solo appearances at Steinway Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Institut Français, Bishopsgate Institute, and the Royal Albert Hall as part of the prestigious Steinway Young Artist Series. He has also featured on BBC Radio London.

Internationally, Amiri has performed at the Conservatorio in Venice and the Mozart Music Festival in Forlì, Italy, collaborating with world-renowned musicians such as Inon Barnatan, Vanessa Latarche, and Trio Shaham-Erez-Wallfisch.

His concerto debut at the Royal Festival Hall with the Chineke! Orchestra drew critical acclaim, hailed as a “Royal Festival Hall debut of considerable panache” (Geoff Brown, The Times) and praised for bringing “confidence and a touch of grandiloquence to Grieg’s Piano Concerto” (Richard Fairman, Financial Times).

Amiri is also a Tabor Piano Ambassador for the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition, championing education and outreach initiatives. His musical journey began as a treble with the renowned Trinity Boys Choir, performing in opera productions at Glyndebourne, Royal Opera House, and English National Opera, as well as touring internationally.
