Suncatcher Workshop

Creative Community Suncatcher Workshop

On the lawn, Tawney Building, Keele University.
Wednesday 22 April 2026 | 11am–3pm

As part of the Blossom Picnic, drop in between 11am and 3pm to take part in a relaxed, hands-on creative workshop with local artist Shiv. Shiv specialises in creating artwork from repurposed and recycled materials, working with found, often broken jewellery, beads and textiles to give them new life.

Participants will be invited to contribute to a collaborative community suncatcher, adding their own small elements using a beautiful mix of colourful beads, fabrics and reclaimed materials. The artwork will grow throughout the day as more people take part, gradually becoming a larger, shared piece shaped by everyone who contributes.

By the end of the picnic, these individual contributions will come together to form a striking, joyful suncatcher, which will be displayed on campus as a lasting celebration of creativity, sustainability and community.

FREE drop in between 11am - 3pm, no booking required.

Whilst you are here, join us between 12-2pm for a Community Blossom Picnic on the lawns. Bring your own food to share with friends, participate in crafting activities, learn more about our National Collection of Cherry Trees at the information stand and join a guided walk. MORE INFO
