The London Tango Quintet is a unique group of five internationally acclaimed musicians performing tango music at the highest level. Music by the legendary Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla is interspersed with stunning instrumental solos, traditional tango and original works composed specially for the group. William Blake (1874–1957) was a photographer and stationer based in Longton. His most famous photographs are known as the ‘smokies’, such as the wryly-captioned Fresh Air for The Potteries. The photographs he took reveal his concern for social issues, a curiosity to explore, and an obsession to record his surroundings.
