Discover the beauty of Fenton’s architecture and ecology through the art of Lino printing in this hands-on workshop led by artist Natasha McHugh. Using Natasha’s own photographs as inspiration, participants will create detailed prints that celebrate the textures, shapes, and stories of the local landscape. 

What to Expect 

This 2-hour creative session begins with: 

• A safety briefing and introduction to Lino printing 

• A short talk on the inspiration behind the workshop 

• Guided sketching and design transfer onto soft Lino 

• Practice time with different Lino cutting tools 

• Step-by-step support to carve and print your final design 

Soft Lino is used to make carving easier and safer—perfect for beginners and experienced creatives alike.

Artist info: 

Natasha McHugh is a multidisciplinary artist and experienced workshop facilitator with a socially engaged practice rooted in accessibility, collaboration, and material exploration. Their work spans a wide range of media, including printmaking, collage, sculpture, textiles, photography, and community mural projects. 

With over four years of experience delivering creative workshops, they have collaborated with organisations such as B Arts, Babylon Migrants Project, Partners in Creative Learning (PiCL), Spode Museum, The Portland Inn Project, and ACAVA. Much of their work focuses on engaging underrepresented groups, including young people, migrants, and mental health service users. 

Recent roles include lead artist commissions on The Butterfly Bush Effect, where they created textile and print works exploring the ecology and gentrification of the Spode site, alongside facilitating public workshops in cyanotype printing and natural dyeing. They have also developed and delivered print-based workshops in school residencies with PiCL and led a lino printing workshop for adults with Babylon Migrants Project in February 2025. The resulting works were exhibited in Dreams Without Borders during Refugee Week at ACAVA Studios. 

Additionally, they produced creative drop-in sessions for The Nature Show at The Art Pavilion in Mile End, London, where they engaged participants of all ages in public cyanotype printing over three days—sessions that saw very high attendance. 

Across all projects, they prioritise creating inclusive, welcoming environments where participants feel supported to experiment and build confidence in their creativity. They are experienced in developing tailored risk assessments, adapting sessions to diverse needs, and delivering workshops in a variety of settings including community centres, galleries, schools, libraries, museums, and outdoor spaces.

Parking & access: lots of on street parking in the streets outside of the venue, also small P&D car park to the rear of Fenton Town Hall. The main entrance has steps, there is a side door with flat entrance accessed by a push button door, and access to a lift to the Ballroom.
