Banner standard variant one

There are two variants for Banner Standards. Variant one (shown below) includes a lead caption, main caption, and an optional section link or URL link. This is used widely across the website.

The standard full size desktop image dimensions are 1600 x 600px.

However, for the homepage we size banners at 1600 x 500px.

If you are adding a page banner that doesn't include a caption, you could instead add a thin banner at the size 1600 x 300px.

Variant two gives the option of including a key statistic in a shield. Please see the example here - Banner standard variant 2.

Vairent three gives the option to add text in the image, but still have screenreaders and search engines pick them up. More details here - Banner standard variant 3.

Top tip: As the images are quite large, ensure that they have been saved for web at an optimised size (no larger than 300kb, preferably under 200kb). There are free online services available to optimise images for the web, but Photoshop remains the best if you have access to it (file - export - save for web option at 40-50% achieves a good balance of reduction). Please see the images support page for more guidance.
