Welcome back to...

Returning students

We're really looking forward to you continuing your studies with us! Here are some pointers to help you find your feet after the summer...

All students must formally confirm that you will be continuing at Keele this academic year. You will have received an email about this to your Keele email account, so please follow the instructions to re-register immediately.

If you are required to choose option or elective modules to study and you have been asked to select these on eVision, you can now choose these modules. Research your modules on these web pages and then head to eVision to make your choices.

Please visit our coronavirus web pages for detailed information about studying and socialising safely.

There's a specific section with guidance on returning to campus, and also a section with information and FAQs for current students.

Please check that your address details are up to date with your GP practice, and with the University too. This is more important than ever, as the address your GP holds is used as part of the NHS Test and Trace system for Coronavirus. Please contact your GP practice directly to update your details. If you are registered with Keele Practice, you can call them on +44(0)1782 753550.

Please also update the details the University holds for you in eVision

If you will be living on campus this year and would like a reminder of what to do before you arrive, what's included/not included in your room, how to pay your fees, or how to request a repair, please have a look on our Accommodation Welcome page

If you feel like it's been a while since you've had your head in a textbook, don't worry, here's a handy reminder of some of the places you can look for support:

  • Have a look on the Academic Life web page for quick links to key resources
  • Student Services are offering all their services online - which includes anything to do with money, welfare and wellbeing, living in halls, chaplaincy and faith, disability and dyslexia, and counselling and mental health. The team are available all through the summer too, so don't wait until the term commences to ask any questions that are on your mind!

The Keele App is there to help you make the most of your life at Keele all year round, and is there for returning students as much as the new ones. Find out more about the App.

You might already have the app on your phone - if so, we recommend you log out and back in again to ensure you're seeing all the newest features!

Also, just so you know, all the 'what's on' features that were in the separate 'Keele What's On App' have now been integrated into the Keele App, so if you had that on your phone last year, feel free to delete it.

Want to get the dates in your diary for the holiday periods, exam seasons, etc.? Have a look at the University's key dates for the 2020/21 academic year.

You have been added to a module in the KLE called 're-induction' - these resources are there to support your learning, so that you can familiarise yourself with the different delivery methods you may experience this year. The module also introduces you to Microsoft Office 365 and using Microsoft Teams.

We’re doing everything that we can to get your timetable to you by Monday 14 September 2020. This being said, we’re sure you can appreciate the difficulties involved in timetabling usage of our buildings in a way which keeps everyone safe. Please note that this date may be delayed if we encounter exceptional challenges, but we're doing what we can to get this to you on time.

As you may already know, we will be making use of the full 9am-6pm teaching day (including Wednesday afternoons) to allow us to adhere to social distancing requirements on campus.

We are also looking to introduce staggered start and end times in the timetable so that there’s plenty of space for moving around buildings, for example starting some on-campus teaching sessions at 30 minutes past the hour, rather than on the hour, e.g. 10:30am.

Returning international students living in University accommodation are able to book our free airport transfer service.

Click here to book your free airport transfer service

This service is available from Manchester International, Birmingham International and London Heathrow airports only. Students wishing to take advantage of this service MUST register in advance by completing the booking form above. The information you provide on the form will be checked by a member of staff and an email will then be sent to you confirming your registration.

Transfer will be by taxi from the relevant airport to Keele campus. Instructions on how to access the service upon arrival in the UK will be sent in the confirmation email. Please note that we require at least 48 hours notice of your arrival. Registration forms submitted within 48 hours of the arrival date will not be processed and you will not be registered for the service.

This service is available until 31 October but we reserve the right to withdraw the service offer at any time. If you will be arriving into the UK at a different point of entry or if you have any further questions, please contact Student Services.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Keele!
