ID and enrolment process

There are a number of short tasks you need to complete before you begin your studies at Keele. Take a look at the information below to see what you need to do next.

Enrolment is the short online task you need to complete to confirm your place at Keele and must be done before you begin your course. It includes confirming the information we hold about you is correct and providing us with a photo for your Keele Card student ID.

Please note that if you're eligible for home status for student tuition fees, you are not required to enrol in person.

If you're an international student, you will need to present your original passport and immigration documents in person to our Immigration Compliance and Advice team before the last date of arrival on your CAS to complete your enrolment. Failure to present your original passport and immigration documents will result in your studies being terminated and your visa sponsorship cancelled.

The first thing you'll need as a Keele student is access to your IT account. Once your place is confirmed, we'll send this information to the email address you gave us when you applied to the University.

If you have not received your IT account information within one week of your official starting date at Keele or you do not have an email address, please contact studentrecords@keele.ac.uk to arrange for this information to be sent to you.

Don't worry if you have mislaid or forgotten your password - simply reset it at keele.ac.uk/it by clicking on the 'Password Resets' tab. If you experience problems, please email it.service@keele.ac.uk for support.

Once your place at Keele has been confirmed, we'll email the address you gave us when you applied to the University.

If you're a home student: the email we send will ask you to upload your ID, submit a photo for your Keele Card, and answer the enrolment questions.

Once you begin the process, you'll see a list of the types of ID we can accept.

  • Go to eVision at scims.keele.ac.uk.
  • Log in by entering your student email address and password.
  • Once you have successfully logged in, complete all enrolment actions which are presented.

Once you've completed your enrolment and your ID has been approved, you'll be fully enrolled with the University. Please allow up to five working days for us to check your ID.

If you're an overseas student: the email we send will explain how to begin your enrolment process. Please complete this as soon as possible ahead of arriving on campus. You'll then complete your enrolment in person once you've arrived at Keele.

We'll send an email to your new Keele email account explaining how to log in to the eVision online enrolment task, and from there all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions.

The process is mandatory and you will need to:

  • Supply us with the details of a person we could get in touch with in case of an emergency.
  • Check and confirm other information we hold about you which will save you time when you begin your studies.
  • Electronically sign a declaration at the end of the process.
