Global Studies Research Unit
The Global Studies Research Unit is the home for international relations research in the School.
In an age of multiple crises and geopolitical uncertainty, we ought to approach the study of the Global through an interdisciplinary and multi-perspective lens. The Centre for Global Studies at Keele University enables such a space in which scholars from the social sciences and humanities can meet and discuss their research in an inclusive environment. The Centre is particularly keen on fostering a scholarly community of critical thinkers, bringing in PhD students, early career and established academics.
The Centre has a strong research emphasis on questions of war and peace, memory, the study of violence and genocide, global political economy, emotions and diplomacy, postcolonial studies, statecraft in East Asia, fascism, nationalism and populism, and psychoanalytical approaches.
