Insider Lunch: Economic Futures: Staffordshire

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire is one of the UK’s fastest growing economies thanks to big regeneration projects, major jobs growth and great accessibility. But what are the business opportunities?

Insider’s special forum will look at how the area sells itself to the world and how it can drive growth on the back of the world-class businesses based there, such as Bet365, JCB, Michelin and Molson Coors.

Also, how can it make the most of its biggest assets, such as tourism attraction Alton Towers and investment hotspot Ceramic Valley Enterprise Zone, as well as key sectors such as logistics, advanced materials and the creative industries.

The forum will hear from key business and education leaders, as well as senior public sector officials, who will give their views on the key topics below:

  • Importance of regenerating parts of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire
  • Growing key sectors
  • Developing the tourism sector
  • Showcasing business success
  • Improving the marketing of the city and county
  • How devolution and local government reorganisation can help
  • The skills needed for growth

The event is part of Insider's Economic Futures series, which focuses on the opportunities in key areas of the region. Coverage will appear in the September edition of Insider, the Midlands' leading business publication.
