Open Lates: EMOTION / RESPONSE

Join us for our first ever Open Lates event at the Three Counties Open Art Exhibition 2026! Curated by Kwanzaa Collective UK, an artist‑led organisation supporting Black, Brown and Global Majority creatives, and Pilgrim Arts.  

This Open Lates centres on the 27 Emotions, exploring how artists respond emotionally to the works on display.  

The evening begins with Kwanzaa Collective: In Response (5:45–6:45pm), where four artists share original creative responses - through poetry, storytelling, visual art and more - to selected pieces in the exhibition. Their guided journey reveals the emotional connections, inspirations and conversations sparked between artworks and responses.  

If you can’t join the tour, arrive from 6:30pm onwards for exclusive after‑hours access to the exhibition, a live performance from local artist Oluwa Miller, and a creative drop‑in activity inspired by the works on display. With the bar open throughout, it’s a chance to explore at your own pace, connect with others and experience the gallery in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

5:45–6:45pm – Kwanzaa Collective: In Response (artist‑led gallery journey)  
6:30–8:00pm – After‑hours exhibition access, live music, creative drop‑in and bar  
8:00pm – Event ends  

The event is organised with support of and in partnership with the Haggar Memorial Trust, celebrating the life and legacy of Reginald George Haggar (1905–1988), whose work as an artist, ceramic designer and educator shaped the cultural life of Stoke‑on‑Trent and North Staffordshire.
