Here is a mature Common Lime Tilia x europaea. It is a hybrid between our two native limes Large-leaved and Small-leaved.
While it forms a magnificent tree it suffers from profuse basal growth and is susceptible to attack by aphids which produce a “rain” of sticky honeydew.
To its right of it is a stand of Lawson Cypress Chaemecyparis lawsoniana.
