TV licensing
If you watch or record live television as it is broadcast or use BBC iPlayer in any way, you will need a TV licence.
You will need a TV license regardless of the kind of device you use to watch or record live television programming. You will also need a licence to download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch-up, or on demand. Check out the TV Licensing website for more information. If you use a TV without a licence, you could be given a fine of up to £1,000.
Please note that not all rooms have TV aerial points and that reception in some halls of residence can be poor.
