Biography

Vishwash Batra carried out his PhD studies in the Computer Science Department at University of Warwick where his research topic involved developing neural models for stepwise text illustration. He works on interesting applications lying at the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. He received his Bachelors of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar in 2015. He has done research projects with Aston University and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. He also has some relevant industrial experience of working as a Software Development Engineer in the e-commerce sector.

Research and scholarship

His research interests include semantics, structured representation of images and texts. He is continuously working towards developing Machine Learning and Deep Learning based solutions for many tasks in Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. Besides his primary research-area of natural language processing, he is also working on data mining and knowledge graphs.
