Applied prognosis research

Our applied research is an integral part of the Institute’s clinical research programme. This currently focuses on pain and arthritis, but with newly established research areas in mental health and cardiology (with potential expansion to other areas), in collaboration with strong emerging research groups at Keele. Further, with the strong methodological expertise available in evidence synthesis, there is an increasing number of systematic reviews and meta-analyses developed together with clinical research teams, supported by the School. The use of electronic health care databases is a flagship resource within this theme.
