Biography

My career in nursing and healthcare education has spanned over 24 years. My clinical career centred on nursing children, young people and families in both acute hospital and outpatient settings. For the past 14 years have been facilitating the education of nurses, midwives and health professionals at pre-registration; post registration and under and post -graduate levels. I have developed many teaching and scholarship interests over the years in clinical practice and education including the care of the acutely ill child, respiratory illness, clinical skills, medicines management in children and young people, supporting students in practice learning, coaching in practice, simulation, numeracy skills in nursing and the voices of children and young people in healthcare.

I am passionate about the delivery of high quality education to equip nurses with the required knowledge and skills to deliver high quality care to children, young people and their families.

I completed a MSc in Supporting Learning in Higher Education and Professional Nursing Practice in 2021.
